아미 비탈은 몬태나에 본사를 둔 미국 포토 저널리스트 및 다큐멘터리 영화 제작자.

아미 비탈레는 시민 불안과 폭력을 목격했지만 초현실적인 아름다움과 인간 정신의 지속적인 힘을 목격했던 100여 개국을 여행했다. 그녀는 진흙 오두막과 전쟁터에서 살고, 말라리아에 걸리고, 팬더복을 입었는데, 이 모든 것이 "이야기를 살아간다"는 그녀의 철학과 일치했다. 비탈레는 내셔널 지오그래픽의 사진작가와 니콘 앰배서더다. 그녀의 수많은 상 중 비탈레는 세계보도사진상 5회 수상자다.

That’s the hope at Wolong’s Hetaoping center in Sichuan Province, where captive-bred bears training for life in the wild are kept relatively sheltered from human contact, even during a rare hands-on checkup. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The giant panda is a testament to the perseverance and efforts of Chinese scientists and conservationists. Since moving to Montana ten years ago, I have had the opportunity to spend time with familes and friends who have a strong bond with the land and a deep connection to what lives and dies here. What has fascinated me most is watching the children growing up here. As newborns, they are up on horseback with their parents, by 2, nuzzling calves that could steam roll a large person. By 4 they are learning to rope and at 6, helping the strong men and women. As Mother's Day approaches, I reflect upon all the remarkable people I've met here. I can not help feeling that the children here are helping shape the landscape--and in turn are being shaped by it themselves. There is a saying that is used often here, "it takes a village to raise a child."
